@CopMoustache We've never met, but I do know some of your former students. Your influence on them was clear and undeniably positive. Thank you for your service!
🇫🇷 Yesterday at a school in La Seyne-sur-Mer in France, a man is reported to be present with a machete.
🚔 French police race to the scene to protect the children, teachers and other members of the public.
👮♀️ Reports say police officers try to Taser the man, but it proves, as it often does, ineffective. Leaving them with little choice when he decides to charge the officers.
💙 French police, trained and equipped to face such threats, react to protect life - discharging their firearms to stop the threat.
🇬🇧 If this had been in Britain, our routinely unarmed officers would have to rely on luck to avoid the loss of innocent life or serious injury to themselves or the public. That can't be right.
HT @FemaleScotlandV for drawing this case to our attention.
My DMs are full of pretty angry Cops, they’re burnt out and don’t understand why people don’t see why. 👀
So I think it’s pretty fitting to tell you what it’s like on an average shift as a Response Sergeant in the Metropolis. 😅

Nothing escapes the attention of a Mali. Here TPD Odi has seen a wall camera moving and to him this a potential threat because it’s alive. My advice to anyone thinking of getting a Mali as a pet is DONT. I’m offered Mali’s almost daily from rescues or owners who can’t cope. 🤷🏻♂️
It's April 2024. A man is walking down a street in Enfield with a knife and police are called. 🚨
A decision is taken not to deploy armed officers because it's not considered "proportionate" or "least intrusive" and it is deemed "within the capabilities of [unarmed] officers". 🧐
Two unarmed officers stop the suspect with the knife. They order him to put it down, but end up having to use a baton and PAVA. They resort to trying to tackle the suspect and one officer ends up stabbed. 🚑
The bravery of these officers doesn't just deserve recognition - it also warrants being given the training and kit to do the job. 👏
The Met's own review - below - describes the decision not to deploy armed officers as being "of real concern", with unarmed response officers describing how they don't feel supported even when there is a very real threat to their safety. 💙
How much longer will we continue to play fast and loose with officer safety and public safety? ⌛
At their last Branch Board meeting , @MPFed agreed to lend @PFEW_HQ £3,000,000 (yes, three million quid!) - to help pay their legal and compensation costs after the latest payout awarded for a data breach involving members' personal details.
I bet @MPFed members will be delighted that their Branch Board have agreed to such a generous loan to an organisation that is failing them so publicly.
This loan has been a closely guarded secret, with dictats from the very top of @MPFed to limit the dissemination of the details of the MBB Paper proposing the loan.
A fool and his money are soon parted.
I wonder whether the very top of @MPFed are indebted to @PFEW_HQ in any way 🤔

I am disgusted and saddened to learn that two men have sexually assaulted a young Sikh woman in Oldbury.
Early reports are saying that the men told the woman to 'go back to your country'.
This is a vile, racist, misogynist attack that should be treated with the utmost seriousness.
My thoughts are with the woman and her family, and I understand she is receiving support.🙏
We’re aware of some online rumours, to clarify, no flags were harmed during the CCTV installation.
The photo shows officers fitting a camera at a local church after vandalism reports. The flag stayed put.
Please share to help stop misinformation and keep the facts flying high.
All officers will now take part in some training being run by Ch Insp Dontav Acklew titled
“how to remain calm when you get your nose broken”
This week long course will equip our officers with the necessary skills and abilities for today’s policing environment
An intriguing letter of complaint recently landed in the inbox of @PFEW_HQ’s CEO.
It centres on alleged conduct @MPFed and the alleged actions of a number of current and former branch officials.
We’ll let you make your own minds up what action should be taken…
