#TD2 going the "wrong way". It's early June, so the atmosphere still has some "winter" left to it. As a trough moves east, the storm will be pushed south by northwest winds aloft. Drier air and shear will weaken the storm in a few days. No big local impacts, except for rain.
11PM: Hurricane #Elsa now 65mi SW of Tampa w/ sustained winds of 75mph. No changes to the warnings w/ this advisory. Tornado Watch now in effect for the entire area until 8AM Wed morning. Highest wind report so far on land was 54 mph at the Sarasota-Bradenton Airport at 10:46PM.
#Elsa now a hurricane about 100 miles SW of #Tampa. This doesn't really change the expected impacts. Going to be pretty rough along the coast, especially Tampa Bay northward, later this evening and overnight. #flwx
#Elsa has reintensified to a #hurricane and is forecast to make landfall along the northern part of the Florida Gulf Coast tomorrow. If it makes landfall in Florida as a #hurricane tomorrow, it would be earliest calendar year Florida hurricane landfall since Agnes (1972).

The eye wall of Hurricane #Sally is approaching #Pensacola this morning. Peak gust to 86 mph reported at Naval Air Station, 69 mph at #GulfBreeze, 62 mph downtown. #flwx https://t.co/HCXKYTwIvn
As the eye wall of #Sally moves inland, the center of the storm is still about 10 miles south of Gulf Shores, Alabama. Landfall doesn't occur until the CENTER of the storm crosses over land. @10TampaBay
