Building a better life one week at a time! Each Monday I choose a word to live by over the next 7 days, hopefully having some fun and learning some stuff too.
Each day is a small lifetime.
It’s a little life you get to live that most people in history do not.
It’s a little life you get to share with the precious few who also enjoy this moment in history.
Live a good life today.
About to start my annual Christmas-novel-fest and could do with some new reading material! I heartily recommend @millyjohnson for lovely feel-good festive books #winterflame#Christmaseveryday
@emmakennytv I refuse to accept that I am going to my uncle's funeral on Friday. He probably ended up dying 10, 15 even 20 years earlier than he should - doubt his wife and kids will be going 'back to normal' any time soon.
#OTD in 1998, Hubble unveiled this image of the Hubble Deep Field South, which featured thousands of dazzling, never-before-seen galaxies. It took a 10-day-long observation to capture this patch of the universe, near the south celestial pole.

@Emmett_Cath The nice doctor who told me that little girls with mumps needed to eat lots of ice cream...then went on to murder hundreds of people. I wish I was joking.
Minimum effective doses of blogging and book writing, while going all in on increasing side hustle income, maybe? Then I can swap later on and focus on mastering one of the other things!
Mastery usually involves focusing deeply on one area of your life for a period of time. That doesn't mean, however, that you need to leave everything else behind. When you go hard toward A, define to a minimum effective dose for B and C.

This one's for YOU, if you're having a bit of a wobbly week. Just remember that everything is temporary, nothing lasts forever and you WILL get through it! In fact, we'll get through it together #selfkindness#resilience#gratitude#selfcare https://t.co/rJtjE2vxzG

Move through your journey at whatever pace feels comfortable for you. Going slow and taking breaks are also steps in the right direction. You’ve got this.
Couldn't agree more. I've had a tricky couple of weeks but I've felt like I had to pretend to be all positive and happy, when really I just needed to sit with my feelings for a while and be kind to myself. It's ok to be a hippo sometimes!
I look really stupid, I know.
But I want to make an important point.
I’m all for positivity. It’s vital. But I’m all for honesty as well.
Pretending to be happy when you’re not, isn’t healthy.
That’s why we need to embrace Hippo Time... but not for too long.
