A new report reveals that China quietly negotiated debt relief for Kenya, as part of a deal to convert its US dollar-denominated debt into renminbi:

"Kenya's largest source of debt relief did not come from the currency conversion and benchmark rate change alone. Instead, we find that Kenya's savings were driven primarily by traditional sovereign debt restructuring tools—removing interest rate margins, adding new grace periods, and extending maturities".

Now Ethiopia,
Mozambique, Zambia, Pakistan, and Indonesia are considering doing the same.

Born in 1948, #Palestine Refugee Sariyah has known many hardships. Yet the most recent conflict was the toughest. 

Sariyah lives in an UNRWA shelter in #Gaza, relying on the Agency’s emergency support including food, medicine and essential supplies. She worries that even her most basic needs may not be met if UNRWA is not allowed to bring in supplies.

Israeli forces on Sunday arrested a prominent 71-year-old Palestinian physician known as the “doctor of the poor” in a pre-dawn raid on his home in the occupied West Bank, prompting widespread condemnation.

Dr Mazen Al-Rantisi, a physician widely known for providing care to low-income Palestinians, was arrested in the al-Tira neighbourhood of Ramallah.

Eleven-year-old Ahmed Al-Raqab was playing on the sand outside his family’s tent in Al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis, when an Israeli missile killed him on Wednesday.

“What was this child’s crime? He picked up a watermelon and they fired at him,” his father, Sabri, wept over his son’s body at Nasser hospital. “Is he a fighter? He’s not a fighter. He’s a child.”

Israel struck tent encampments along Gaza’s coast, where thousands of displaced families shelter at the farthest edge of the enclave. A six-year-old lost an eye in the same attack.

Since the so-called ceasefire began in October, Israel has killed at least 265 children in Gaza, roughly one a day, UNICEF says.

Every president before Trump understood that you cannot accept a $400 million gift from a foreign government and still claim to be working for the American people.  

No president in American history has ever accepted anything like this from a foreign government. There's a reason for that. It's called the Constitution. 

Congress never voted on it. You never got a say. And you’re still paying up to $1 billion to retrofit it, so Trump can fly around in it, and then hand it off to his own personal foundation when he leaves office.

3 judges with the International Criminal Court filed a lawsuit in a US federal court against Trump and his administration, challenging the sanctions against them and calling it a "financial death penalty."

The judges bringing the lawsuit are:
- Kimberly Prost (Canada)
- Solomy Balungi Bossa (Uganda)
- Reine Adelaide Sophie Alapini-Gansou (Benin)

Trump placed sanctions on the judges over their judicial decisions regarding investigations into war crimes by Israel and the US.

The judges argue that the sanctions are extrajudicial measures meant to punish and coerce them. They say the restrictions cut them off from banking, online platforms, travel booking, and sometimes health insurance.

This should be much bigger news.

⭕️ New: Israel seizes 115 acres of Palestinian land to expand settlement bloc

Israeli authorities seized 464.4 dunams (114.8 acres) of Palestinian land in the town of Sinjil, north of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, by declaring it “state land,” according to WAFA.

The Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission said the declaration covers the entire area of the Givat Harel settlement outpost, established in 1998 and designated by the Israeli government in December 2025 as a standalone settlement.

The land seizure links the settlements of Shilo and Ma’ale Levona along Route 60, creating a continuous settlement corridor that consolidates Israeli control over a wider stretch of Palestinian land in the area.
