Also, my psychology prof friend told me that the stuff Claudine Gay did was pretty common in his field, whereas it absolutely is not in philosophy. Not sure why it's common in psychology, though!

@JacobWitten1 @SashaGusevPosts @calicodusty Interesting. Not how it’s done in philosophy … I’ve seen van Inwagen use very similar phrasing across articles. That said, I’d be shocked if you could find more than a handful of philosophers who did verbatim copies of others’ words sans quotation marks in any of their articles.

@Artifex74 @Trags What's the Reds' "lifetime record"? According to Baseball Reference, the Reds' record for its entire history is 11056-10891. .504 WP. If you mean during the Castellinis' reign, then it's much worse: 1,536-1,683, a .477 WP. (Only six teams worse during that timespan.)

@Trags But this starts to get vertiginous: if you don’t trust Krall to make any of these decisions, do you trust Castellini to hire someone else to make these decisions? If not, then you’re saying the problem is insuperable, and the Reds will never be good, save for a lucky season.
