@Veydrick If you want a good model for Lucius Malfoy's feelings for his daughter, look to Silco from Arcane and how he treats Jinx vs. his political ambitions (don't use Jinx for Malfoid).
Book Lucius doesn't abuse Malfoy, he has a whipping boy (well, elf) for that.
As fun as the enemies-to-lovers trope is, I think the story could benefit from Harry also having a male rival. Maybe Malfoid has a twin brother or something, a Malmoid if you will. What would you name this character, and what would their rivalry be like?
#malfoid
@ortwsx@Arty_Lizardman Not her original world so she doesn't have any attachment to it. More relevant, if she now knows there's innumerable other worlds to conquer, she can kill undesirable ones indiscriminately, for no other reason than petty pique, before moving on to the next.
@Khzrmlkcnnsr Counterpoint: The post said a united Africa, are they really united if they turn around and backstab each other like that?
Counter-Counterpoint: If the hypothetical Africans aren't behaving like Africans, then the scenario diverges into fantasy. What if the Africans had magic?
@StockOperator56@Warlizard@Parmenides5BCE It needs to give the families an out, they can keep benefits if they cooperate with law enforcement, otherwise they'll just work harder to cover up the crimes.
@LordDidymuss Adds an interesting element. Harry originally thought Malfoy was the Heir of Slytherin, having him be almost but not technically would be an interesting twist. Lucius didn't know what the diary would do, he was testing the Diary, and Riddle ordered him to give him to a student.
@PLeigh_Presents@eswordsman2 I like where this is going, but I have a different idea. She's not good at it, and the other death eaters don't respect her because she's just a teenager, still in school, and resent a newbie having oversight over the OG's, and she compensates by being ruthless and paranoid.
@PLeigh_Presents@eswordsman2 They could have made him torture other Death Eaters who screwed up or people who crossed Voldemort. As someone who is pseudo-nobility, he usually doesn't see how the sausage is made, and he can justify it to himself that all the really bad stuff he did was "in house".
@Citadel_Base The actual solution is to cut waaaay back on Space Marines as a poster faction. I know they just lost a bunch of units, but for a while at least they had more infantry units than some factions had units in their entire armies, and the meta is always warped around them.
@PLeigh_Presents For plot hole #2: Moody's behavior is extreme/eccentric enough that it would be very easy to imitate, and erratic enough that deviations won't arouse suspicion. It's either stated or implied that he was drugged the entire time, so basically suspended animation.

This is a fix for several things, but powerful and/or long lasting enchantments cannot be placed on rubbish. An object needs a sort of mythic weight for anything but a short-lasting trivial spell to last more than a few hours. Crouch Jr. needed it to be the triwizard cup.
How I'd fix the biggest plot hole in Goblet of Fire.
>Portkeys use similar magic to apparition, so they don't work on Hogwart's grounds.
>That enchantment was lifted during the third task so that teachers could apparate quickly to a student if they threw up the disress signal

2)
>Voldemort learned this from Jorkins, and was also able to obtain the prize cup from her.
>Portkeys need to be enchanted twice, once at destination and again to activate them. V keyed the cup to the graveyard before the tournament began.
>Portkeys glow slightly when active.
>You need to intentionally grab a Portkey for it to work.
>Harry would notice a random object glowing like a portkey.
>Harry and Cedric don't realize the cup is a Portkey because they think the glow is just an effect meant to highlight it, even the pedestal is glowing.
@Samthrilzz Easy, there's more going on.
>Wanda seals his lips
>Wanda secretly disables his powers
>Wanda blows his head apart while he's panicking.
It's sadistically toying with him while downplaying how powerful she really is.
@StealThePantsu If that blows your mind, imagine Snape as a woman who had a crush on James. The weird girl who pined after the jock, only for him to get snatched up by her prettier, more popular friend.
