Farewell Longyearbyen. Takk for alt! 🇳🇴My #ArcticLife has come to an end but I'll yet be back for more adventures this summer! #Svalbard 💙 #Svalbardianer4ever
@thames_travel will there be an ST1 Service from Harwell Campus to Oxford or not? I've been standing in the freezing cold with no information. Clearly the app times are wrong. Please advise.
We are looking for ideas for peer-reviewed sessions for @esa's next Living Planet Symposium: https://t.co/mmnwLyLrjI
If you don't know what LPS is➡️held every 3 years (because it's a lot of work to put together😅) ESA’s Living Planet Symposia are among the world’s premier events on Earth observation.
The 2025 edition will be in Vienna.
#LPS25
Extremely excited that the next @ESA_EO Living Planet Symposium will take place in my hometown Vienna next year.
Save the dates: 23 - 27 June 2025
See you there!
The best news for a Monday morning:
@esa_eo next Living Planet Symposium will take place a year from now!
When: 23-27 June 2025
Where: Austria Centre, Vienna
The focus will be on how to transition from observation to climate action and sustainability for Earth. Don't miss it!
Still not sure what sessions to follow at #EGU24?
Here's some inspiration if you are interested in learning a bit more about our #EarthObservation missions: https://t.co/x6jruhYNlr

@rab_equipment Fab. Got my own ski touring trip to the Lofoten planned this spring - in memory of my late husband. Emotional and nervous but also very excited!
@thames_travel Hi, can you confirm the 18:30 ST1 from Harwell Campus will be leaving on time? The online tracking system seems to imply differently. Thanks.
🤩 CryoSat lives! 🤩
⛽️ A fuel leak threatened to bring @esa's ice mission to a premature end
🕹️ At @esaoperations yesterday, we swapped to its back-up propulsion system
🥵 The back-up thrusters had never been used before, in over 13 years in space...
🥳 ...and it was a success! CryoSat flies on, to continue its unparalleled record of global ice for a good while yet

At @ESA_EO ESRIN this week. It was great to hear all the CryoTEMPO processing teams present their work on developing improved @esa_cryosat products. Thanks for letting me join the meeting.
🤩 Thank you so much to all these fantastic people who joined us in ESRIN this week to discuss the next improvements to CryoTEMPO - an incredible 13+ year record of Earth's ice and water - with more soon to come 🤩
Great to have @EoCdt students at our annual @esaclimate CCI Colocation meeting.
I saw you all chatting to our project scientists at the poster session - well impressed by the level of engagement!
Thank you to our colleagues at @esaclimate who invited some of our students to attend their recent CCI Colocation meeting. We are really grateful for these opportunities which provide excellent career development and networking
Today, I am excited to open together with @KarenStG the first ever @esa - @nasa MAGIC Science and Applications Workshop in Assisi. Mass Change and Geosciences International Constellation (MAGIC) is the ESA-NASA concept for collaboration on a future gravity constellation.
The temporal evolution in surge-type glacier crevasse patterns is also visible from space. In amplitude images from synthetic aperture radar, such as @ESA_EO@CopernicusEU#Sentinel-1, this is associated with changes in backscatter intensity.
Big thank you to organisers of yesterday’s Remote Sensing session at @_Arctic_Circle & all participants. Such a big turnout! So much to say, so little time. Still got questions or just want to hear more about how we monitor melting ice with satellites? I’m your contact. Ping me.
📽️ As the #ArcticCircleAssembly takes place this week, this video shows the stark sea ice losses in the region
🥵 The Arctic is experiencing disproportionately higher temperature increases compared to the rest of the planet
🛰️ Satellites such as #CryoSat provide crucial insights into this "Arctic amplification"

It’ll be an early start, I know, but anyone at @_Arctic_Circle interested in how we @esa@ESA_EO@esaclimate monitor the cryosphere with satellite data 🛰️, head over to the remote sensing session in Björtuloft at 08:30am to hear me talk about diminishing ice measured from space.
We are so glad to have you as one of our @esaclimate CCI fellows! Great kick-off meeting yesterday. Great project. Looking forward to hearing more about your work on separating thermodynamic and dynamic sea ice thickness change in the Arctic. The next two years will be ace!
🌍🚀 I've started my Climate Change Initiative Fellowship with @esaclimate@ESA_EO@AWI. Looking forward to unraveling the thermodynamic and dynamic sea ice thickness change in long-term satellite observations @esa and climate models. More details https://t.co/ZPTDO17EUP
