Imagine if you will…..
The Eagles are running to score a touchdown in the Super Bowl over the Chiefs in a pivotal drive in the 3rd quarter……and all of a sudden a member of the Cleveland Browns runs on the field and tackles Saquon Barkley….
Stupid right?
Poor William Byron
@rickdogg821 Fair. At least the leader still has an advantage though. In the context of the preferred point system used to crown a season long champion, it’s irrelevant what else the analogy is an argument against.
This is the equivalent of saying that if your high school basketball team isn’t nearly as good as your opponent at a larger school that the winner of the game should be decided with a single possession instead of keeping score for the full 32 minute game.
Look I understand why folks want 36 race point format. And from a competition standpoint I want to lock it up as early as possible. That’s domination.
But if you’re not at Hendrick, Gibbs, or Penske I think it’s a tough business model to sell partners on.
@MambaSmith34 Not to mention the season finale is at a specific track. The current format crowns a “Phoenix champion” or “homestead champion” not a nascar champion. You don’t think thunder road should adopt a playoff format do you?
@MambaSmith34 Gonna have to agree to disagree on this one my man. I think your outlook is short sighted. The viewership numbers don’t lie. Manufacturing game 7, buzzer beater almost every week diminishes the authenticity of the sport and the natural moments that would otherwise occur.
For anyone wondering, there are 4 races left in the 2025 @CARSTour season and the top 5 in points are separated by only 33 points.
No playoffs. No gimmicks. Season long points championship and it’s getting GOOD.
I’d tune in on @FloRacing next weekend at Florence🔥💯
