If you've been on X for more than 5 mins today, you'd think Figma was dead.
But if you spent another 5 mins into looking into Claude Design, you'd realize it's the exact same product we had access to before, but with a different UI.
@tomjohndesign@conductor_build I personally still don’t find AI that fast, particularly when working on entirely new flows. I would spend a lot longer prompting it to something half decent compared to designing it in 15 mins or less, then finessing.
@elanmiller@off__menu Also heard that some great companies such as Google, Facebook, Slack… etc have used them to help iterate and learn quickly to help build their products.
@RobertJBye@figma Having only projects to group work is limiting for teams working at agencies where we have a ‘project’ per client but that just has to house all of the work you do with a file per actual project. So big accounts get messy.
@disco_lu@iamsteelen My approach is to separate out ‘brights’ - yellows, greens… etc from other colours when trying to use perceptually uniform scales. So using different contrasts in Leonardo for each but having a consistent intent for each degree of the scale.
Sounds are annoying because most designers use one sample for a button and play it repeatedly.
Instead, you want to steal a technique from gaming and randomly select from a set of 8+ samples each with slight differences to create texture.

@0x5am5@framer But I am glad they are going back to their dev roots with plugins a bit. Like I would love a way to have dynamic routes similar to next js, search params… all that sort of stuff for more diverse use cases for it. Too often framer feels only useful for basic portfolios and blogs.
@0x5am5@framer I agree. Plug-ins were by far the most interesting announcement. I think they tend to correlate ‘hype’ with their ‘dev-effort’ for features instead of the value it will provide to users. I think a lot of work went into the feature to make a 3D canvas, so fair play but not for me.
@mattgperry@framer Normally I am bit underwhelmed by all the ‘hype’. A good example was the ai stuff in framer. Looks cool but was a bit of a gimic and wouldn’t actually be useful in a real project.
