@Generation4580 @politicalmath The interpretation of the 14th amendment is pretty clear & has been a consistent precedent. Otherwise it wouldn’t have been in effect for so long. The way “all persons” is interpreted means non citizens of any kind. If Trump wants to change that do it the right way. Not by EO.

@Generation4580 @politicalmath Except slaves weren’t recognized as “persons” but property. When the constitution refers to people as persons they are referring to citizens and non citizens alike. They definitely wanted children of immigrants to be recognized as citizens in this new country that was growing.
