Exclusive: Business leaders want Labour to keep Keir Starmer as prime minister, a new poll shows.
48% of 500 executives polled said a challenge to Starmer would pose a serious risk to their business, according to research by Bradshaw Advisory and @StrategyMerlin shared with Bloomberg.
One in five financial services leaders said Starmer’s ousting would threaten “major impact” to their businesses, rating the risk at 10/10.
Notably, the executives were split on whether they’d support a Starmer-led Labour Party or Reform at the next election, with 24% of those polled backing each. That’s a greater openness towards Reform from the business community than you might expect.
What’s clear is they do not want a different Labour leader. Only 10% said they’d vote for a Labour Party led by someone else.
