Ok, Chirag, you have to ask yourself this question: would you have said any of this to Anthony Zietman? Because the word “mansplaining” comes to mind when reading your recent tweets.
@dgsomucla @Jesus_Ed12 @UCLAHealth If ever there was a signal that our field is burning down, it’s paying medical students to be interested. Where was this support in 2013-2018, @MSteinbergMD ?
So other than the @ARRO_org survey saying “PGY5s are employed” and @PottersMD promising everyone future jobs at ~half of academic spots in 1-3 years… were there any substantive discussions of resident oversupply at #ASTRO2021 ? Or are we just pretending the future is fine?
@radoncodonk@radoncchairs@RadOncPDs The downturn in the 2000s didn’t magically fix itself. IMRT rescued the field. We don’t have anything like that on the horizon. We have the opposite (decreased technical utilization).
109 US MD fourth year students are applying to RO residencies. That’s enough to fill about half of the spots this year. Just curious, when do we officially switch from #radoncrocks to #RIPradonc?
@Marty_Shrkeli @ASTRO_org@ARRO_org If the oral exam is so critical to ensuring public's safety, why are we now allowing 180 graduates to independently practice FOR TWO YEARS without the said certificate? Answer: no, it is not essential! It is a vehicle to line the pockets of "leaders" before they finally retire /2
@Marty_Shrkeli @ABR_Radiology The organization is nearly completely unresponsive to the needs of its membership. It needs to change radically or dissolve. Historical relevance alone is an insufficient justification for why ABR should be in charge of RO boards.
Mike Steinberg making bold predictions about the job market, after stating making predictions is difficult. Also, he said everyone will have a job. So stop worrying!
