@Dr_Squared @timricketts_ I don't disagree. But it doesn't make my point about lawyers' pay invalid at all. The assertion was wrong. The "fat cat lawyer" trope is very much an Americanism, especially for NHS work. I include barristers in that, too.

@D_C_Cain @timricketts_ As a lawyer (acting on behalf of the NHS) I disagree. There's no direct comparison as we don't get "night" rates, but we often work all night for the same hourly pay we get in the day. I'm in support of what Tim is saying, but the lawyer comparator isn't helpful.
