This week in Nairobi, 40 WASH professionals, engineers, and partners from across East, South and West Africa have come together for an intensive, hands-on training on Piped Water Supply Systems Design.

The training brings together technical expertise, experiences and practical learning, covering key areas such as water source identification and protection, demand forecasting, hydraulic design, system layout which addresses sustainability and climate-resilient water systems. With a strong emphasis on real-world applications, participants are strengthening the skills needed to design and implement water systems that are safe, accessible, functional, equitable, and resilient.

At its core, this initiative is about more than infrastructure. It is about improving the quality and sustainability of services delivered to communities. Because when water systems are designed right, they become a foundation for better health, education, and opportunity for children and families.
