“Over the course of our collective work, we have witnessed young people become more informed about their sexual and reproductive health and rights. We have seen young people and communities gain confidence to speak about issues that are often difficult to discuss. We have seen service providers, communities, civil society and other stakeholders engage around issues that directly affect the lives, health, dignity and futures of young people.” @NamubiruZula Chair Board PSD

During the panel discussion, our Country Director, @Auntie_Olzz emphasized that across Africa, many of the challenges facing young people are similar. "Transactional relationships remain a reality for many adolescents and youth, often involving access to food, school fees, accommodation, employment opportunities, or social status not just money," she added. #RHNKPanAfricanConference2026

Good morning change-makers!
Uganda has roughly 4.5 million young women aged 16-24 — almost 10% of our entire population. These are the make-or-break years that shape their futures, their families, and generations after them.
New research from @fsduganda under the YUWFI initiative looks closely at how these young women are accessing and using financial services. The picture is hopeful in some places… and honest about the gaps in others.

Teenage pregnancy, SGBV, and HIV are not just statistics; they are deeply personal realities affecting thousands of young girls across Uganda. Yesterday’s packed screening of #MaamaWange at @CinemaxUg was a clear message that our community is ready to confront these vulnerabilities head-on.
When we create and support films like this, we are doing more than celebrating local talent. We are using the screen to expose the systemic dangers facing young girls and provide a blueprint for how society can better protect them. By linking the film directly to action, where every ticket purchased buys essential supplies for needy young mothers, we are bridging the gap between awareness and tangible support.
Leadership means using every tool at our disposal to advocate for the marginalised. By blending authentic stories with targeted impact, we can rewrite the future for young women across the country.
I am grateful to everyone who filled the cinema and stood with us. The journey to change lives through storytelling continues.

Together with Denzel, Jabu, James and Thabang, we tackled stigma, pleasure/protection myths, PMTCT, PrEP and the game-changing Lenacapavir. 💉
But having the tools isn't enough if the barriers remain.
The conversation continues, stay tuned!
