This year we’re celebrating 25 years since @Gavi was launched! Since then, Gavi has helped to immunise a whole generation – over 1.1 billion children – and prevented more than 18.8 million future deaths, helping to halve child mortality in 78 lower‑income countries. Now we’re focusing on applying lessons from 25 years of impact to build a safer, healthier and more prosperous world for all.
Vulnerable children are at risk like never before. Half of all children living w/ HIV aren't receiving treatment & shocks to global funding threaten to undo years of progress.
Here's a message from the #GlobalAllianceChampions @ the forefront of the response. #IAM#ForEveryChild
Funding cuts limit our ability to vaccinate over 15M vulnerable children against measles in fragile and conflict-affected countries.
Vaccines save lives.
We can't lose ground in the fight against preventable diseases.

As measles cases surge in Texas, I'm advising NYers to check their vaccination record. If you received two doses of the MMR vaccine, you are considered fully vaccinated. Two doses of the vaccine are 97% effective against measles. Read more in @nytimes: https://t.co/XS9LntG1Oc
Most people who get the MMR vaccine have no or only mild side effects. Measles, on the other hand, can lead to hospitalization, lung infection, brain swelling, and death.
Vaccination is the best way to prevent measles.

Vaccines have been safeguarding public health for decades.
Before the polio vaccine, NYC saw regular polio outbreaks causing paralysis and death.
When the vaccine became available in 1955, the City launched a mass vaccination effort. By 1963, NYC was declared polio-free.
