🚀 Breakthrough in #ALS research! @YaPingYen et al. in our lab uncovered a pivotal role of m6A in #ALS, and manipulating of m6A reservoir in motor neurons significantly slow down ALS onset and progression in SOD1 mouse model! https://t.co/W9T6Ozioar
@theJACLab at Academia Sinica, Taiwan, is recruiting (openings: 3 RA and 3 postdoc). I've been trained there during 2015-18 and would highly recommend if you are interested in studying the development and degeneration of motor neurons using both stem cell and animal models.(1/4)
I worked in @theJACLab in 2016-17, and it was one of the most fruitful experience I ever had. Highly recommend! If you're interested in ncRNA and neural development, it's a great place to be.
@YaPingYen2 and I wrote a #review on "The m6A epitranscriptome on neural development and degeneration", published with @SpringerNature in JBS. Time to learn more #RNA!
Congrats on Shih-Hsin's paper! She describes an uncharacterized MiR34/449 function in the spinal cord circuit! This adds a new function of MiR34/449 to the central nervous system, in addition to its role in cancer r https://t.co/3KJooSyA8z @eLife @SinicaFans @IMBSinica
Review article for the function of miRNA regulation in the developing spinal cord and degeneration. It was published from my current lab #The JAC Lab! EPIC!!!
It is a humbling experience to write a review, with @taihenchen, and to summarize the function of #microRNA during motor neuron development and degeneration in #SMA.
BREAKING NEWS:
The 2019 #NobelPrize in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded jointly to William G. Kaelin Jr, Sir Peter J. Ratcliffe and Gregg L. Semenza “for their discoveries of how cells sense and adapt to oxygen availability.”
It is good to see my PhD mentor @Enrique1Amaya in TSDB/TSSCR again, after 13 years! Enrique, I, and my postdoc @YaPingYen2 / Kuan-wei are presenting in the same conference, making it a great Avenger team of 3-generation amaya lineage.
