In PE, we've been doing the final push in our Cross country training ready for the big day tomorrow! We've reminded the children about pace and today they finally cracked it! We had some very rosy cheeks by the end.
This week in English, we've been learning the original story map of Goldilocks and the Three Bears and then changing the characters and porridge for our own ideas. We've then been rehearsing our new story with a partner ready to write our innovated versions tomorrow!
Year 1 have Cross Country tomorrow afternoon so please feel free to come into school in your wonderful spotty clothes and bring your PE kit and trainers to change into. Alternatively, please come in for the day in your PE kit ready for the day. @PurpleBPEF
In science we have been thinking about animals including humans and sorted animals into carnivore, herbivore and omnivore using Venn diagram, we had to really think about the different animals diets and decide which area to group them into
Technique is key! The countdown is on for the cross country competition which was previously called off due to the rain. Today in PE, we spent a long time discussing technique and pace and how slow and steady wins the race. Then it was time to get running!
Today in RE, we thought about how we feel in light and darkness. Some said they felt scared in the dark, while others said it makes them feel calm and safe. We listened to two pieces of music; one based on darkness and the other on morning light. We then drew how it made us feel.
A very big welcome back. I hope you all had a wonderful half term. The whole Yellow Class team missed this bunch over the Half Term and it was lovely to see them again today.
Yellow and Purple class have both started reading their first chapter book! What a big step. We really have started with a classic. Don't worry, we'll still be enjoying lots of picture books too. What was your favourite book as a child? We'd love to know! @PurpleBPEF
In PSHE, we've been thinking about different families and how no two families are exactly the same. We might share some similarities but we are all unique. The children drew what makes their families special and then compared them with their friends and no-one was 100% match!
