Wealth Management Advisor @ Apollon Wealth. Financial planning for commercial & residential service business owners & other lower-middle market businesses.
My name is William Yex.
I'm a Wealth Management Advisor at Apollon Wealth.
I work with blue-collar business owners -
plumbers, electricians, HVAC, builders, landscapers.
You build things for a living.
I help you build wealth that lasts beyond the job.
What you'll find here:
→ Tax strategies most trade owners never hear about
→ How to protect what you've built
→ Retirement planning that actually fits your life
→ Real stories. No jargon. No sales pitch.
I enjoy relating financial planning to my personal interests and hobbies - offshore fishing, hunting, golf and college football (Go Gamecocks)
Follow along. Share with a buddy in the trades.
This is built for you.
Time is ticking ... 3 months left to strategically make tax moves before 12/31 - are you:
Optimizing your QBI deduction?
Maximizing your retirement plan contributions?
Maxing out your HSA?
Completing your backdoor contribution?
Ramping up expenses prior to year end if you've had a great year?
Accelerating revenue if you've had a slow year or potentially converting pre-tax dollars?
Realizing capital losses?
So many important decisions to make that have trade offs either way.
@RealPlantBrah That's a whole lot of plants! We redesigned our house recently (Charleston, SC area) and I was shocked at the cost of plants, trees, shrubs, etc. Definitely worth it though!
@coltonsbuilding What types of businesses? I haven't followed you for long enough to know - what is your goal when talking to the owners? Acquiring their business?
@sweatystartup Idk that’s like saying I’m never going to get into a car because I’ve seen a wreck before. Or never swimming because I watched shark week. Football is a great game that teaches you so many life lessons
@girdley Then, most of the time you have both health problems (main priority) and business problems unless structured properly and proactively having this hard conversations.
Went to my first @ASAupdate meeting tonight at the local Charleston chapter - met some great people and is a great reminder why I love working with the blue collar community.
@AdvisorJobs We have “promoter agreements”. Typical setup is 20% of gross revenue for 3 years. Great way for other professionals to introduce clients and get compensated. Convincing CPAs to take the 65 is the hardest task 😂
You wake up at 5am.
Run the crew. Chase the invoices.
Handle the customers. Manage the equipment.
Build something real.
And then April comes.
And you write a check to the IRS that ruins your week.
Here's what I know after working with trade business owners:
The big tax bills aren't because you did something wrong. They're because nobody showed you what was available.
That's the only reason.
Let's change that.
