People will be supported to withdraw from 'antidepressants'. It's important the help is translated into carefully managed tapering rather than abrupt discontinuation. Thank you to all our peers & professionals who have tirelessly campaigned for this ✊

Nobody should have to share their most horrific experiences with mental health staff to ensure they are treated with basic respect. If you can only display compassion towards people by delving into their trauma, you have a serious problem.
PSA on pathologising trauma
1. It’s possible to talk about trauma without resorting to mental illness, disease, disorder & symptom language.
2. Those medicalised frameworks tie us to oppressive, carceral systems rooted in ableism, racism, patriarchy, homophobia & class.
@OwnMyLifeCourse Brilliant news and a well deserved achievement. We recommend Own My Life Course for anyone working with women experiencing or who have survived domestic abuse.
@UKDCP statement on the #PTFMFramework

The latter is an impossible western fantasy, one which has led us down a path of collective alienation & despair.
@IndigoDaya@Nikolas_S_Rose @matthewrbroome Well said @IndigoDaya#PTMFramework is a much needed alternative to harmful medicalised approaches. The personal attacks on Lucy need to stop. People need to be able to make informed choices about what approach fits their experience.
