I grew up in church, went to a Christian college, got a master degree in ministry studies, and have pastored since 2015. My guess is that some were dragged into roles because many churches are desperate for volunteers that seem capable. Many people get thrust into roles they are not ready for, and they were called pastors but were really very plugged in volunteers. I’ve seen people rushed into leadership roles and after a little while you find out they don’t really believe anything that the church believes.
@sarahsalviander What do want to do? That will make the writting process much easier. That aside, idea 2. I love that stuff. I’m horrible at math, and so seeing people who aren’t horrible at math work through things is very heartening to me.
@JoshuaBarzon Depends on what you mean. So long as the whole family has a chance to be together in worship at some point, there is nothing wrong with separate times of discipleship outside of the main worship service.
@MagnusFratus@Protestia Then I don’t get what the big deal is. That’s how the church has been for about 1900 years with slight differences here and there.
@megbasham I’m from a different domination, but can you explain what the actual stance and practicalities of that stance are? Like a woman who leads worship, does she just have to be called a worship leader or minister, but everything else stays the same?
@stillwaters777@Protestia Okay, yes, that’s fine. I just want to know what that means for women on staff who do pastoral things and profrom ministry duties like lead worhsip or even teach Sunday school?
@MagnusFratus@Protestia That’s what I thought, so what exactly is the position then? Women who work at a church cannot have the title pastor? Like it would have to be worded as “music minister” or “children’s minister”?
One of the reasons I wrote a book is to guarantee that my future teenagers have something besides smut and fluff to read. If my oldest (6) heard me reading Eden’s Fall, I wouldn’t really have to worry about what he is hearing.

@jeremiahdavis10@AlextheAdm1ral@DaleJr I haven’t listened to the download yet, but by definition not winning when you had been winning is a fall off from where he was. Also, the eye test says his car has not been a winning car in a few weeks. Still hyper competitive, but a tic off.
@SpotterBrett@FixingEducation Pay seems pretty good to me, plus benefits, plus retirement. Summers off to grind extra job. One of the most interesting findings from the book “Millionaires next door” was the number of teachers.
@coconservative7 Having just read the lyrics of Praise to be sure, the song is mostly an amalgamation of several psalms. I would problly pick another song for your comparison.
