Des Moines loves their track 🫶
In the first of a series of interviews with coaches taking programs to the Drake Relays presented by Xtream, Gonzaga head coach Pat Tyson joins DyeStat editor Doug Binder to discuss the outdoor season and his outlook on taking the Zags to the Blue Oval in Des Moines.
One of the most popular and successful distance coaches in America, Tyson is in his 18th season at Gonzaga, which is about to enter the new Pac-12 Conference on July 1.
On Sunday, Gonzaga announced Tyson would be retiring from his storied coaching career at the end of the 2027 outdoor track season. Tyson will have led the Zags for 19 seasons and helped the distance program set EVERY single record in indoor, outdoor and cross country country. He also led the Zag men to four straight #NCAAXC Championships appearances.
