@JHB8dance@WinnerTien@AlisDanielle Here he was returning a grass body serve, Tien was on the net and got hit, Fonseca apologized twice.
Against Sinner he hit a smash right at sinner’s direction (usually a player commits to a side, but he stood still and dodged at the last sec).
@WinnerTien@fonsischeming Fonseca did the best he could returning a grass body serve, he didn´t mean to hit Tien and apologized twice afterwards.
Less hate and more love between our nextgen players and fans 🤝❤️
@redbutchracing@fonsischeming To return serve on Grass (doubles) is hard,
That point Fonseca did the best he could returning a body serve, he didn´t mean to hit Tien and apologized twice afterwards.
@pgfolkesson@bgtennisnation Wrong, the "2026 ATP Official Rulebook" couldn't be more clear, check again:
7.22, G:
Spectator noise, expressly a shout "out", isn't considered unintentional hindrance, there's no doubt, just read.
Also, the fact a player made the error before the potential "hindrance" matters.
@Alina58264185@Filippo65253305 I think Rudd didn´t complain about that becouse the shout came *after* he made contact, so it was a forced error caused by fonseca´s forehand, not by the crowd. (and spectators shouting out isn´t usualy a significant hindrance acording to the rules)
@TonyPepps@ericsalliot Wrong, the spectator called AFTER Rudd finished contact, it was a forced error from him. Even if it was before, the rules don´t say the point should be replayed, the player is expected to play through the crowd´s noise, even a false out, it would be a rare exeption not the rule.
@pamelam35 Ball was clearly in, Pamela.
Linesman called it, the Umpire confirmed it and the mark proved it.
The official Hawkeye has 3,5mm of margin on hard, it´s larger on clay and even larger on the unofficial TV News simulation setup that called "out". No gap, even you can see it too:

@dbdegn@bgtennisnation It was in, you could see it in the TV, the gap between the ball and the line stoped at the mark. Close, but the Hawkeye has a 2mm margin of error and the unofficial news simulation probably has even more. The umpire saw no gap because there wasn´t, Rudd didn´t even complain.
@bgtennisnation An official Hawkeye makes mistakes, it has 2mm of error, even the line judges saw it in. This tournament doesn´t have an official Hawkeye, who called out was only the crowd (after Rudd finished contact), and a TV news simulation setup (we don´t know the margin of error).
@bgtennisnation She clearly pointed out that there wasn´t any gap between the ball mark and the line, we can see in this video a clear point where the darker clay next to the white line stops to make the mark of the ball, Rudd must have seen it too. There´s no question according to the rules.
@IceDog07@josemorgado He represents Brazil, but Brazil will always represent a part of Portugal’s legacy, so of course his success will always mean the success of Portugal too!
For sure a huge celebration for both our countries!! ❤️🇧🇷🇵🇹❤️
