Switching math curriculums every other year has not solved the math achievement gap in the US - teachers need PD that helps them deliver the language of math meaningfully and how to use manipulatives meaningfully.

1) Explicitly teach the math language & use it yourself!
2) Apply best practices of structured language in math class
3) Use templates such as the Frayer Model to teach key words in depth
