@sallonsax Can’t stand Harwood, but this isn’t it. The issue isn’t that the NHS has no data scientists; it’s that NHS data sits in fragmented systems that don’t interoperate well. Palantir/FDP is mainly a platform for connecting and operationalising that data. Supplier choice is separate.

The issue with the triple lock is it ratchets costs up unpredictably, making long-term budgeting harder and squeezing fiscal room for everything else. State pensions can be comparatively low AND the triple lock can still be a bad uprating mechanism

@jakebackpack I think generally, there is slightly more choice. But different categories of things have more variety in different countries. Examples: wider variety of Indian spices in UK supermarkets; wider variety of tomato sauces in US supermarkets.

I wish i could casually explain that kpop at its peak used to be for freaks and weirdos and it mixed jpop’s anthemic sound w/ synths from western 80s pop and occasionally orchestral strings and it was once uniquely a product of the nation’s zeitgeist during the 2010s

@s8mb I don’t agree. From my experience, traffic moves much slower in the US because of road design, not stops. Stops may be farther apart in Europe, but you can also expect to arrive much faster given the same distance. Without more stops, the commute time just wouldn’t be worth it.
