I'm thrilled to share our new preprint, in which we've found that neurotransmitters can be chemically "marked" as a way to incorporate metabolic history - such as diet or life stage. https://t.co/l2FPY6THfV Led by Porhathai "Un" Malaiwong, Allen Schroeder and Tia Brown. 🧵(1/6)
For the worm-types, the destination of the glucose-octopamine complex is CAN - whose function is essential but not well understood. CAN appears to have the capacity to release octopamine but not to make it itself, implying it acts like a neuron under certain circumstances. (5/6)
MCDB at Yale is seeking to fill a tenured Associate/Full Professor position. Candidates with interest in investigating outstanding questions in biology at the organismal, cellular or molecular level are encourage to apply.

Our work on PPP2R3C-MAP3K1 at centrosomes is now out in @CurrentBiology! https://t.co/D1qmbSo7JY. Now with more functional analyses (lethality of PPP2R3C KO or FOP KO is suppressed by MAP3K1 KO) and more beautiful U-ExM expansion microscopy by @Armanduuum and @CentrioleLab!
Check out this beautiful work by my former lab mate @JakeCarrasquil1 in the @BahmanyarLab 👏 Includes many cool findings on how CTDNEP1 and binding partner NEP1R1 regulate lipid synthesis at the ER and nuclear envelope! ✨👇

Postdoc position alert - in Alex Cantó-Pastor's NEW lab at Yale. While we will miss him greatly, a new postdoc will be sure to benefit from his mentorship and will get to participate in a very exciting project at the intersection of development and immunity. @acantopastor
May is Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes & Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders Awareness Month! As a disabled PhD student I wanted to remind others that 1 in 6 people worldwide – experience disability, -and 80% of those people are considered to have an "invisible" disability!👩🏻🔬@TheEDSociety
Excited to share our preprint on a new centriolar kinase-phosphatase module, with fantastic U-ExM microscopy by @CentrioleLab and @Armanduuum! https://t.co/Ti4hKdzyQ1 Here we studied Ppp2r3c, a PP2A phosphatase regulatory subunit and hit from our prior cilia CRISPR screen…

Thank you to @CellChemBiol for the opportunity to write this! It was fun to put to paper and maybe it'll resonate with some folks. Shoutouts to @StanfordBiochem@RohatgiLab and @UChiChemistry, and also my dad who can now cite a paper in which I say 'My father was right' 😆
Recruiting a research tech to join the growing Hilbert Lab @BiologyBC ! We're looking for curious scientists to help us build a supportive research environment and tackle adventurous new projects investigating host-fungal interactions. Apply: https://t.co/hw5GqF99Kz
