Yesterday, May 15, I taught "Phase Separation 101" lecture at Academia Sinica @AcadSinica, Taipei, Taiwan. Had stimulating discussions with students of my class. My host, Ruby Chen, asked me to write my comments on my lecture flyer (like a visitors' book archive). Some pictures:
Curious how biocondensates localize ions? We found that condensates selectively bind and localize both chaotropic anions and kosmotropic cations. This
alters the condensate composition, interface potential and RNA duplex stability inside. By @IrisSmokers

Our latest paper is out today @MolecularCell! Led by a @AHA_Alberto and with important contributions from @SaricLab & @EllenbergLab! We show how chromosomes shift from being repulsive to becoming attractive during mitosis. Read all about it here:

Honored to be a part of the brilliant scientific community at @American_Heart. Thankful to their recognition towards my research on Alzheimer’s disease and helping in pushing the boundaries of translational research. Thank you to all the mentors for making this possible!😃😁
Excited to share my featured article on our universities website! Grateful for all the opportunities that will open up with this prestigious grant by @AHAScience@AHA_heart . Honored to be part of a brilliant scientific community. Thank you @GC_CUNY for this wonderful article!😁
Happy to share our paper in @JPhysChem Letters on the detection of lipid-induced misfolding of the prion protein using the interfacial properties of liquid crystals. This work was spearheaded by my colleague @SANTANU03277687@DCS_IISERMOHALI@IISERMohali.

Today I had an exciting visit to @asrc_gc@CUNY that has a very vibrant, stimulating, interdisciplinary scientific environment. Thanks @SElbaumG for hosting me. Truly enjoyed exciting discussions with everyone at CUNY ASRC, lunch with her lab & dinner with her amazing colleagues.
Had a wonderful lab alumni dinner at Mitr Thai in New York with my former undergrads @PriyashaDeshpa1 @PgSwastik@_NehaPunia who are now doing their PhD @asrc_gc. It's so lovely to see them happy & thriving. Thank you for the surprise celebration of my (belated) birthday. 😍
Wow! It was an incredible day 2 at #SfN2023 Big thank you to everyone for such an overwhelming response for my poster, leading to potential collaborations! Grateful and motivated to contribute more in science! Deepawali was celebrated in a grandeur way! Happy Diwali everyone 🪔
Our article is now live at Nature Cell Biology! representing a fantastic collaboration with @dallandrummond and squire lab. We demonstrated reversible storage of stress-induced orphan ribosomal proteins within chaperone-stirred liquid condensates. Dive in https://t.co/Qas0UJNnbA
It's so nice of the Indian Academy of Sciences to send me a beautiful certificate of my election to the fellowship. This certificate has a watermark of Sir CV Raman, who founded the academy in 1934. Vibrational Raman spectroscopy has been an invaluable tool in our research work.
