Trauma makes you think your self-worth depends on how others treat you. Healing makes you realize some people don't deserve to be in your life, no matter how much you love them, & you didn't lose them because of your boundaries, they lost you because of their repeated disrespect.
People assume your soft heart and gentleness must have come from an easy life. They don't know you walked through the darkness alone & transformed your wounds into wisdom, your pain into power, the mistreatment of others into boundaries, & your generational curses into blessings.
after spending most of my life over-explaining myself, i’m trusting myself to say what needs to be said, and nothing more. i will not waste my energy searching for the perfect way to communicate with people who aren’t ready to listen.
a simple technique i began using to reflect upon my friendships & relationships was asking myself "does the bond i have with this person strengthen me?" whether that person provides laughter, fun or kindness. do i feel mostly energized by what i share with them or mostly drained?
A woman in her multidimensional power can sit at any table and increase the value. Put her in any room, circle, group, whatever - and without even saying much, everyone is impacted by her presence. Folks sit up a little straighter and move a little different. She is the standard.
As trauma survivors we have learned to push through and keep going.
This makes it hard for us to stop and admit when we need help.
It may also feel confusing to those around us. They aren’t used to us doing the asking.
People don’t talk about how painful it is to come alive. To begin telling stories you were forced to hide. To start naming things that shut our hearts off. To let anger & grief breathe. They don’t talk about it because few do it. Peace to those willing who heal.
Soulmates aren't only lovers...they're friends too. Soulmates naturally recognize you, befriend you, vibe with you & align with you. They understand you, appreciate you, love you, heal with you & evolve with you. They make you feel beautiful in your own skin just for being you.
When a child grows up in survival mode, they don’t stop loving their caretakers, they just stop trusting their care. As adults, this often results in isolation. It’s not a lack of desire for safe connection, it’s that no one showed them what that looked like when it mattered most
Those who overextend themselves often grow up in homes where they’re treated poorly without apology. Those memories taught them to offer more hoping it’s an exchange for better care. They don’t know their healing is in rescuing themselves from people who remind them of their past
hold yourself accountable for the roles you played in your own pain, but never hold on to the mistakes attached to how you may have let yourself down; you deserve to heal without the past and self resentment being a constant barrier as you navigate to more healed versions of you.
Friends give friends space. Some of us are emotionally exhausted. We’re taking time to self isolate and recharge. It’s not personal. Authentic friends welcome you back when the time comes.
Give people the space they need without feeling the need to fix, save, or heal them. Let them soak in what they’re feeling. If they need you, they’ll reach out. Sometimes it’s nothing more than a bad mood, a bad day, or a moment in solitude—nothing deeper than that.
You are on time. Things are happening at the pace they should be happening for you. Life doesn’t always go the way you imagined, but life is still working out for you. Don’t rush, be patient. Things are working out, have faith, trust the Universe. Don’t feel discouraged!
