A Diplomatic Historian who believes in the sanctity of human lives regardless of the divides and the desire to selflessly serve humanity in various capacities.
Yesterday, in the company of delegates from multiple departments within the Ministry of Transportation @MinTransportNG and the Nigerian Railway Corporation @info_NRC, we convened with the Senior Officials of China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) in Beijing. The intention of the meeting was to assess the advancements and significant achievements made thus far through the collaborative efforts of the Ministry and CCECC in the enhancement of railway infrastructure in Nigeria.
During the session, both parties discussed the various projects that have been successfully completed, as well as those that are currently in progress. The officials shared their insights on the challenges faced and the strategies implemented to overcome them. It was a fruitful exchange of ideas and experiences, with a focus on improving efficiency and ensuring the successful implementation of future projects.
The upcoming visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR @officialABAT to China added a sense of urgency and importance to the discussions. The signing of a historic bilateral agreement between Nigeria and China is a significant milestone in the strategic partnership between the two countries. The meeting served as a preparatory session to ensure that all parties are aligned and ready to make the visit a success.
Overall, the interactive session was a productive and collaborative effort to strengthen the relationship between the Ministry of Transportation, the Nigerian Railway Corporation, and CCECC. The commitment to excellence and dedication to delivering high-quality railway infrastructure in Nigeria was evident throughout the meeting, setting a positive tone for future collaborations and partnerships.

Yesterday, I led a team from the @MinTransportNG on an impromptu inspection to the Kubwa train station in order to assess the level of service being provided to the Nigerian public, this is following a report of Vandalism of assets belonging to the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), which supply power to the Kubwa train station. An act that has forced the station to rely on alternative power sources, leading to a decrease in efficiency.
During this spontaneous inspection I also identified that the original design of the station did not include an escalator to accommodate individuals with disabilities and the elderly. This lack of accessibility has resulted in difficulties for these particular groups, as they are forced to use the staircase intended for all passengers.
In line with our commitment to improving the transportation sector in Nigeria, I have tasked the management of the Nigerian Railway Corporation @info_NRC to re-evaluate the design of the station with a focus on incorporating an escalator for the convenience of the elderly and people with disabilities.
Furthermore, I have instructed a team from both the ministry and the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) to collaborate with the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) to expedite the restoration of the national grid.
As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency of our operations, we have implemented a system of rapid response to address any issues that may arise. This proactive approach will help us to deliver the high-quality service that the Nigerian people deserve, making their transportation experience seamless and hassle-free.
It is our collective responsibility as public servants to uphold the principles of accountability and excellence in our work. By striving for optimal efficiency in our respective roles, we are contributing to the realization of the Renewed Hope Agenda set forth by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR @officialABAT
