“If we are going to win the war for AI and advanced manufacturing, we must win on energy.”
Great stuff from @DaveMcCormickPA at the Pacific Fusion groundbreaking in Albuquerque today! 🇺🇸⚡️
Today we announced a Memorandum of Understanding Regarding Collaboration on High-Yield Fusion, High-Energy-Density Science, and Related Technical Areas with the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).
This MOU establishes a framework for identifying opportunities for collaboration in high-yield fusion, high-energy-density science, pulsed-power technologies, advanced materials, modeling and simulation, and other areas of shared national interest.
We'd like to thank Brandon Williams for joining us today to sign the MOU and speak at our Fusion Summit.
You can catch the Fusion Summit now on our livestream: https://t.co/nQfiYImInl
T minus one hour 👀 - Join us live as we break ground on our Research & Manufacturing Campus in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
This campus will be home to the first U.S. fusion facility designed to achieve high-yield fusion and net facility gain, marking a critical step toward commercial fusion power.

1 DAY ⬇️
We break ground on our Research and Manufacturing Campus in Albuquerque.
This facility marks our progress toward commercial fusion power and the advancement of critical capabilities for national security.
Watch our livestream at 9:30am MT — featuring U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich (NM), NNSA Administrator Brandon Williams, National Lab leadership and more.
Stay tuned for the livestream link coming tomorrow morning!
The groundbreaking will be followed by a Fusion Summit, where we'll explore what it looks like for the U.S. to win in fusion energy and how we can strengthen national security with high-yield fusion.
Let’s build.
We break ground in 7 DAYS ⏳
Our 225,000-square-foot Research and Manufacturing campus will be the world’s first to achieve net facility gain, a critical step toward commercial energy, and produce high-yield fusion, a critical capability for national security.
We’re thrilled to have incredible speakers joining our groundbreaking and fusion summit, including:
- U.S. Sen. @SenatorHeinrich (NM)
- @NNSANews Administrator @NNSAWilliams
- Pacific Fusion board member @ericschmidt
- National Lab leadership
Join our livestream on August 25th at 9:30 am MT and celebrate this critical energy and national security milestone with us.
Stay tuned—our livestream link will be shared an hour before the event.
The global race for fusion isn’t just about clean energy — it’s about national security and 21st-century deterrence.
In a guest column for @ExchangeMonitor, former national lab leaders break down why public-private partnerships are critical to keeping America at the forefront of defense and technological innovation.

This August 25th ⬇️
We break ground on our Research and Manufacturing Campus in Albuquerque, New Mexico: home of what will be the world's first high-yield fusion facility designed to achieve net facility gain. ⚡️
This facility marks critical progress toward commercial fusion power and the advancement of critical capabilities for national security.
Celebrate with us:
- 9:30am MT — Livestream begins, featuring U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich (NM), NNSA Administrator Brandon Williams, and Pacific Fusion board member Eric Schmidt
The groundbreaking will be followed by a Fusion Summit, where we'll explore what it looks like for the U.S. to win in fusion energy and how public-private partnerships can support energy and national security missions.
Let’s build.
Pacific Fusion was founded to make fusion power practical, affordable, and scalable.
Using pulsed-power inertial fusion systems, we're working toward our near-term goal of net facility gain—more fusion energy out than went into the system. From there: commercial fusion systems designed to bring clean, reliable power to America's growing grid.
Follow along as we build the future of energy.
