A poem from Charles Bukowski's "On Cats", published posthumously, 21 years after his death in 1994.
My Cats
I know. I know.
they are limited, have different
needs and
concerns.
but I watch and learn from them.
I like the little they know,
which is so
much.
they complain but never
worry,
they walk with a surprising dignity.
they sleep with a direct simplicity that
humans just can't
understand.
their eyes are more
beautiful than our eyes.
and they can sleep 20 hours
a day
without
hesitation or
remorse.
when I am feeling
low
all I have to do is
watch my cats
and my
courage
returns.
I study these
creatures.
they are my
teachers.

A new study has been launched by @HKUMed to assess the mental health impact of the 5th wave on Hong Kong residents.
It's free, anonymous (if you so wish) and only takes 10 minutes. You might even win a $100!

Govt announced $10,000 in consumption vouchers for every HK resident.
Fine idea, but instead I would like to pledge my $10,000 to charities of my choice. We could re-direct the money to the charities at a click of the button.

One of the fundamentally broken things about Hong Kong's current Covid situation is that it has neither the scale/labor force/compliance of the mainland to do a draconian lockdown, nor the democratic accountability to ensure balanced, reasonable public health measures.
Peopleโs needs and desires are always at the forefront of innovative placemaking: integration/ cultivation of arts & culture, sustainability and hospitality more.
For better, more intentional and wholesome living in all the cities we love.
