Part 4: Progression & Goals
โข.Track It: Note how many clean reps you get so you can beat that number next week.
โข Level Up: Once you can do 3 sets of 8 reps easily, switch to a lighter assistance band.
โข The Goal: Keep dropping the assistance until you can do your first strict bodyweight pull-up.
Part 3: The Routine
โข When: Do them first in your workout while you have the most energy.
โข Frequency: Practice 2 to 3 times a week with rest days in between.
โข Sets/Reps: Aim for 3 sets of 5 to 8 slow, controlled movements.
Part 2: Easier Variations
โขNegative Pull-Ups: Jump up so your chin is over the bar, then lower yourself down as slowly as possible.
โขBand-Assisted: Use a heavy resistance band under your feet to help pull your weight up.
Part 1: The Foundation
โขDead Hangs: Just hang from the bar for 30 seconds to build grip strength.
โขActive Hangs: Pull your shoulders down and back while hanging to engage your back muscles.
Pull-ups are the single greatest back exercise ever created.
No lat pulldown, row, or machine can replicate the raw athletic power and V-taper development of mastering your own body weight.
If you aren't doing them, your back day is incomplete. Change my mind. ๐
