I am so proud of my friend @AshutoshRanka who led the CJP protest. Of his courage, his conviction, and the model of citizenship he represents.
When another friend asked me “What are such people made of?”, I wanted to attempt an answer. So wrote this essay.

Spoke to Abhijeet Dipke’s parents and congratulated them.
One must note that this will fight will continue. Resignation is the first step in this fight.
VBA wants to reform the system!
We want to abolish NEET and decentralise education.
Post from former Twitter CEO. Government of India wants to ban a software called bitchat which allows communication over Bluetooth (by establishing a mesh network) and hence enabling communication even if mobile communications are brought down. Bitchat enables exchange of messages and multimedia, and works especially well in places like the protest in Jantar Mantar.
BBC Commentators when England foul an Argentina player “He’s a little too keen there the little scamp”
BBC commentators when Argentina foul an English player “A brutal assault from that filthy little foreign lad who’s clearly still reeling about the Falklands or 1966”
Inciting Hindus against Muslims through propaganda films is fine but Sikhs being shown truth about mass disappearances and encounters risks "rekindling anger". This is what I mean by Monopoly of Victimhood. Majority is free to consume hate but minorities don't even deserve truth
A whole host of celebrities, athletes and industrialists wishing Modi with the hashtag #MyModiStory
This north korea level propaganda is supposedly an organic outpouring of respect for the PM.
But farmers' protest was foreign hand, and criticism of govt is toolkit gang
Have been too stunned to react at the complete lack of empathy & balance in the Hon Supreme Court’s ruling on stray dogs. This is a black and white approach in an area which needs sensitivity and nuance. And those blindly rejoicing - you may not be very nice people but at least don’t publicly declare you are not!
#WATCH | Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate 184 newly constructed Type-VII Multi-Storey Flats for Members of Parliament at Baba Kharak Singh Marg, today.
#SupremeCourt hears suo moto case against stray dogs attacking children in streets

Amicus and Sr Adv Gaurav Agarwal suggests sterilisation of stray dogs not enough, streets should be stray dogs free
Stray dog menace: Supreme Court passes a slew of directions to Delhi-NCR states, MCD and NDMC to deal with the menace of stray dogs and orders creation of dog shelters across cities. Supreme Court orders authorities to pick up all stray dogs in Delhi-NCR from all localities within eight weeks and to put them in dog shelters, and no stray dog will be released back.
Temple elephants are subjected to a horrible life. Madhuri/Mahadevi should definitely be removed from the temple in Kolhapur. If not Vantara, she should be relocated to another elephant sanctuary. Hatred for Ambani should not blind us to the plight of the elephant.
I want folks to reflect on the logic which the government is following on the flow of information.
1. Indian news channels ran programming for hours last night reporting that the Indian Navy had been deployed and had bombed and destroyed Karachi Port.
2. Indian news channels ran stories that the Indian army had entered Pakistan.
3. Indian news channels ran stories that India has captured Islamabad.
4. Indian channels ran stories about suicide terror strikes in Rajouri
All of this 'reporting' by major new channels was not just fake news but also inflammatory and provocative and clearly intended to ensure the very escalation (from the Pakistani side) that the Indian government has cautioned against from the outset.
Earlier, channels described an Indian Muslim victim of Pakistani shelling in Poonch as a Lashkar-e-Tayyaba terrorist.
Instead of firmly clearing the air with respect to this kind of dangerous reporting, the government issued instructions to Internet Service Providers across India to block access to The Wire — one of the largest Indian news platforms that has been reporting on the emerging situation with responsibility and restraint.
The blocking order is unconstitutional. It is an attack on press freedom and on the right of every Indian to access information. It must be lifted immediately.
