1. It is not a confiscation or total ban on ownership: Current owners may keep their Glocks. The ban applies prospectively to new manufacture, sales, purchases, and transfers within the state.

2. Exemptions exist for law enforcement (active and retired in some cases) and certain other transfers (e.g., family).

3. Glock switches themselves were already illegal under federal and prior Maryland law; this targets the firearm designs that make conversion especially easy.
