How will people buy homes in the future? We don’t have that picture yet, but let’s make sure it has our fingerprints all over it. [6/6]

@jlantunez “No genera pertenencia/comunidad” creo que es el análisis incorrecto/demasiado superficial. Simplemente me parece atrevido juzgar desde tan lejos, basado en lo que se ve en redes en lugar de profundizar un poco más con hechos. 👍
Why is flat design “over”? I agree with @bchesky, and I’ll add it’s a want for what’s lacking. I keep coming back to this article from 1927. Just like people then craved more beauty and artistic detail in reaction to decades of mass-produced utility, we are here again. What Airbnb shipped isn’t just 3D, it shows the loving care of the maker behind every fraction of a pixel. When it’s easy to produce things in mass quantity, people crave craft that shows care. The AI era is our new industrial era and the same rules apply.
@patrickc on Stripe:
“My intuition is that more of Stripe success than one would think is down to the fact that people like beautiful things and for rational reasons.
Because, what does a beautiful thing tell you? It tells you the person who made it really cared, and you can observe some superficial details, but probably they didn’t only care about those and did everything in else in slapdash way.
So, if you care about the infrastructure being holistically good, indexing on the superficial characteristics is not an irrational thing to do.“
Couldn't have said better and proud to have Patrick as an investor in @linear.
We shouldn't accept poorly made things and that lack beauty.
Airbnb CEO @bchesky said a lot of things that were worth further thought and discussion during his fireside chat with @zoink at this year’s @Figma Config.
Here are the things he said that stood out most to me 👇
