I'm a pilot of the internets // Pentester, Cloud Architecter, Red Teamer, Incident Responder and all around nerd. This is my personal Twitter... be warned ;)
@cillic Gonna sound like a smart ass with this but the one you enjoy. For some that's DFIR for others reversing, or maybe policy or maybe pentesting. Definitely recommend trying new things and going outside comfort zoneduring your career, never know when you'll find something new to โฅ๏ธ
@byt3bl33d3r I actually had to write code once that interfaced to an API where a successful submission would return an HTTP error code..... I still don't understand
One more thought I always have when I talk to people on the job hunt is if an employer doesnโt respect you while going through the hiring process why would you think theyโll value you once you accept?
Seriously. I know as a guy this is easier for me but everyone should tell employers what they feel they are worth and want/need. The worst that can happen is the say no, be reasonable and honest - most of the time youโll get a compromise.
A friend of mine was really disappointed with an offer she got from a startup sheโs excited about. We talked through a strategy, and then she sent me this. Iโm so proud of her.
This is what happens when we negotiate.

InfoSec Twitter, lend me your opinions! How do you approach a discussion with someone who tells you they want to 'get into security'? I have my approach but am always open to hearing how others respond in this situation and extra Internet points for any resources you can share :)
I'll start. I try to learn more about the individual and their motivation and then I share something along the lines of this mindmap (not necessarily this one per se) to introduce the sheer scale of potential areas they could learn about/specialize in. https://t.co/cXixG6ltaP
