you'll have a new language, can chat with locals and have the time of your life

So much american business advice is only relevant to that bubble.
I watched 2 videos on the gaming industry:
#1 head of blizzard - played with the founder of WoW in his guild, met his guild for lunch, turns out on of the guys is the founder. “be nice, you never know what happens etc”
#2 head of bethesda - went to college around the corner form bethesda, ended up getting a job with them. “just hustle” etc
you hear lots of other stories “I was a caddy for a guy, turns out he was worth $100m and offered me a job cause I stood up for myself” or something
this is not helpful to anyone outside the US. it’s probably barely relevant there.
you can ignore all of it, and throw any lessons they tell you away.
I’ve spoken to ppl who want to work for themselves and they have gorged on this advice.
they seem to be waiting for something. waiting for someone to save them. to come down from the heavens and hand them some opportunity.
this won’t happen. you will have to carve a different path for yourself.
