@WB_Texas@ConsoomerLs We have more people than ever paying half their paycheck on rent but that’s not the problem, it’s out of touch weirdos assuming that the workers are at fault, not capital that is underpaying and overcharging, causing people to be unable to meaningfully save.
@JoelWBerry Food deserts. A lot of people live where the only “grocery store” nearby is a Dollar General. I’m also guessing a mom of 8 is SAHM which is different than a family where both parents work at least one job to afford basics.
@ProductiveGamma@texasrunnerDFW The median household income is not much over $70k in the US. College grads can’t find jobs in many areas and “entry level” jobs require experience for middling pay.
@dmchirwa@texasrunnerDFW I have a 3br1ba 980 sqft home for a family of 5 (two teenagers) but even this home if I were to buy with 20% down and current rates would be over $2,500/mo and I’m in a medium COL area
@LinkedInLunat1c I’m salary, but try to get my hour lunch in. And if a meeting is scheduled on lunch, I leave at 4. I’m compensated based on 40 hours so why give away more time? They require PTO if I’m an hour under, so I’m not giving them an hour over.
@IDontCareva@LinkedInLunat1c Why is it amazing to see people on lunch breaks? It’s a very basic part of nearly every job. People need to get off their feet and disconnect/recharge. I work at a desk and absolutely need my walks and disconnect time to stave off burnout.
@PlayStation It’s time for proper family sharing and transferring games between accounts. If something happens to me, my children should be able to continue to enjoy the games I have purchased over the years. If you’re going to take away physical media, you have to make digital better.
@iCrazyTeddy Yeah the idea that if something happens to me, my children wouldn’t be able to l play my digital games because the account dies with me is very wrong.
@TridentTrue Not defending Dan, but I think one bad bullpen game wouldn’t be as big of a deal if the team wasn’t mired in a historic run of putrid offense.
@alialtafsaleem@tii_bag Yeah and predatory employers assign more tasks than can reasonably be done in 40 but the compensation remains the same. It’s bullshit. Plus, those same companies make sure you take PTO if you work 39.
@ZeldaGarf “Greatest game of all time” accounts for more than just the quality of the game compared to modern standards. OOT was revolutionary in 1998 but Twilight Princess perfected an existing formula.
@Lucky_ssb_ Maybe the audience isn’t people that play games on other consoles/PC and only have a Switch for exclusives. Those folks are perpetually miserable.
@SteveOnSpeed My home is less than 1,000 sqft yet worth $350k in an area with a median household income of $56k. People who make $4,000 a month can’t afford a house payment over $2,000 a month.
@ronrule My house is 984 sqft and I live in an area with a median HOUSEHOLD income of $56k. My house is worth $320, meaning a payment with current interest rates would be nearly $2,000/mo. The “average family” absolutely cannot afford this house in my area.
@BlackLabelAdvsr $298k is still pretty unaffordable at current interest rates, I’d be over $2500/mo with a 3% down FSA loan. Need to make well north of $100k to comfortably afford that.
@FollowIncentiv I make $100k as an IT Pro. If I moved to an “affordable area” good IT jobs are harder to come by and pay a lot less. It’s not really simple advice to say “just move”.
