Labour, Tories, Lib Dems and Greens: I demand you stand down in Clacton. I will be a unity candidate and pledge to build at least one affordable house.
Nigel Farage says he wants The People versus the Establishment. So be it.
Leave him to me.
@Birdyword@MattZeitlin for me there's something about teamwork. Ronaldo is a player obsessed by personal accolades and his own goal-scoring record. Messi is an artist who also assists his teammates on the pitch, who just happens to also be one of the greatest goalscorers of all time.
@ThatsFootballTV Bit of a stretch to say that there hasn't been a foul on a gk in nearly 2 years, based on one isolated incorrect decision in Jan 2025.
@JPalmdal@scottjwillis@Mjl556L@EmiSmithShowe Make up a stat for dribbles won against players out of position then. Or separate out short set plays vs the rest. Don’t lump it in with set plays though, as you can see it distorts the narrative. The idea a quick short free kick is ‘overpowered’ is absurd to me.
@scottjwillis@Mjl556L@EmiSmithShowe It makes the open play work to create the goal more impressive if anything doesn’t it? Fulham had all their players back. Do think it’s a worthless data point if it doesn’t align with anyone’s real conception of the game. Bending reality to fit a neat set of quantifiable criteria
@likesretirement@meadwaj Quite. If there's people here who use more than they need just because they can, while there's a global shortage of oil, doesn't that just push up the price for everyone else (never minding the environmental issues)? What is progressive about that?
@themagic_tophat He's already falling before Gabriel touches him. I think it's genuinely v good decision from the refs. You can see Gabriel pulls away from it and doesn't follow through. It's a foul but not a card.
@alexmoneypenny unpopular opinion: but I think he was really close to get that shot past Kelleher and it was just lucky/good goalkeeping. Fans channelling too much frustration into that one moment.
