Dear Italy,
Your PM just defended Pope and lost an ally in Washington — the Commander in Grief, yet the most 'powerfool'man on earth.
We'd like to apply for the vacancy.
Our qualifications: 7,000 years of civilization, a shared love of poetry, architecture, and food that takes longer to prepare than Trump's attention span.
The only thing Iran and Italy have ever fought over is who invented ice cream. Faloodeh came first. Gelato came louder. We've been in a 'cold' war over this for 2,000 years.
No one is apologetic for the genocide committed by Kashmiri people in 1990 against Kashmiri Pandits. While this person is arrogant and trying to compare apples to oranges, it’s simply shameful. By numbers, 100 percent of Kashmiri people wanted Azadi and were involved in the jihad, either openly or covertly. Aga Ruhullah needs to refresh his memory, as I’m sure he hasn’t lost his marbles yet.
A heartfelt apology for the historical blunder can heal, but hatred for Kashmiri pandits will never allow them to behave civilly.
The most I have ever laughed after reading a tweet..😀😀😀
Everybody should read this.
The worst part is that I actually for an instance believed it and more so the people with whom I shared it…. No one pushed back at me that this is fake.
What does this tell you about the leaded of free world?
Ayatollah Khamenei killing: What it means in Kashmir
The Narendra Modi-led Government in New Delhi has statistics on its side when it claims to have brought peace to Kashmir by way of the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019. The situations in Kashmir after and before 5 August 2019 are in a total contrast to each other. Notwithstanding the terrorist violence and frequent encounters between the militants and security forces for the first 20 years of the separatist insurgency, the Valley witnessed the first organised street clashes in 2009 and 2010. Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani's death in an encounter on 8 July 2016, triggered a very strong spell of turbulence and street clashes across the Valley. Kashmir witnessed the worst from July 2016 to June 2018, leading to termination of the PDP-BJP government. This period of violent demonstrations, mob attacks on security forces, unending hartal calendars, clashes, bullet, pellet and tear gas firing saw jyst a few days of normality. Militants Burhan Wani, Zakir Moosa, Riyaz Naik and so-called pied piper of Azadi, Sanjan Barkati ruled the hearts and minds of a young generation which the politicians pushed onto the path of destruction for their vested interests.
Even as the street violence subsidised immediately after August 2019, there was huge obscurity in an objective assessment of the situation. People like Farooq Abdullah said that the streets would turn red as and when the soldiers would be removed. For some months, there was a mix of curfew and hartal and near-total telecommunication and internet shutdown. In February 2020, Covid-19 began changing everything. It provided a tool to the authorities to stop returning the bodies of the militants-- in some cases also those of the civilians-- killed in encounters to the families. This brought an end to the funeral processions which were perceived to be the main contributors to the guerrilla recruitment and indoctrination.
By the time Covid vanished, Kashmir had remarkably changed. There was no stone pelting, no mob attacks on security forces, no hartals and demonstrations. So it is FOR THE FIRST TIME AFTER AUGUST 2019 that demonstrators in big numbers came out on streets without seeking any permission from the authorities and continued their protests against Israel and America over Ayatollah Khamenei's killing. With complete wisdom, application of mind and sense of judgment, the administration and the law and order authorities decided to not interfere with any demonstration as long as the anger remained directed on the two foreign countries and there was no anti-India sentiment, slogan or demonstration. For a change indeed, senior Police officers escorted the peaceful demonstrations and allowed them to occupy the streets for the whole day. All that the authorities did was to lowe the high speed 5G and 4G internet to 3G in some areas for fear of spreading of fake news. Advisories were issued for legacy and social media, beseeching them to be fully careful and not to generate or carry forward anything that could have a negative bearing on the peace and normality.
Khamenei was actually the spiritual leader of the millions of Shia Muslims outside his country where he was the Supreme leader and ultimate controller of the systems and governance. However on account of his tough stand against Israel and America, he had also grown tremendously popular also in sections of the non-Shia Muslim population which has been critical of some Muslim countries' "relationship with the enemies of Islam". Khamenei's only visit to Kashmir came around 1980 when he participated in joint congregational prayers and delivered a sermon on the Iranian revolution and the importance of unity between Shia and Sunni Muslims at Srinagar's Jamia Masjid in presence of late Mirwaiz Maulvi Mohammad Farooq.
END
The Kashmir willows have been a part of many champions’ kits. To see Jammu & Kashmir’s journey from being an enabler of champions, to becoming champions themselves, is beautiful.
The season was built on consistency, resilience, and season-long excellence. Auqib Nabi’s impact with the ball stood out in a demanding campaign.
A historic moment for the team, coaches, and support staff. Journeys like these define the beauty of domestic cricket.
