How do plants turn local wounding response into a whole-plant defense?
Our work identifies CNGC13, a vasculature localized Ca²⁺ channel that helps propagate systemic Ca²⁺ waves and activate jasmonate & glucosinolate defenses in Arabidopsis.
A new piece of the puzzle in long-distance plant immunity and wound signalling and acts in parallel to well known GLR channels
First PNAS from my lab and is combined efforts of a great team : Misha @MishaKu16647918 and Ramgopal as first authors. Supported by Bhawana @BhawanaSha17 and Mahendra @MahiPawar12 from lab

The painful part is not only delayed results.
It is watching your motivation, confidence, and scientific momentum slowly disappear with them. Science should reward contribution not allow the work of researchers to become trapped indefinitely in someone else's timeline.
BlackHole of Research
We are taught that science works like this:
Literature → Critical thinking → Research question → Hard work →
Results → Analysis → Publication. But sometimes the reality looks very different:
Literature → Critical thinking → Hard work → BLACK HOLE?
A black hole where months or years of experiments, ideas, raw data,
revisions, and hard work disappear into an administrative or
hierarchical void before they ever become a publication.
