پاکستان کے تینوں بڑے آبی ذخیرے تربیلا ، منگلا اور چشمہ 17 اگست کو ایک ہی دن ایک ساتھ برلب بھرگئے۔ پانی کی دنیا کے لئے یہ ایک بہت بڑی خبر تھی لیکن پاکستان کی معیشت کے لئے آکسیجن بھری یہ خبربٹگرام چئیر لفٹ جیسی توجہ بھی نہ پاسکی ۔

تینوں ذخیروں میں کل ملا کر 13 ملئین ایکڑ فٹ پانی جمع ہے جوکہ آنے والی سردیوں میں نہ صرف فصلوں کے لئے دستیاب ہوگا بلکہ بجلی بھی بنے گی۔ غیر یقینی موسمی صورت حال اور ماحولیاتی تبدیلیوں کے درمیان واپڈا اور ارسا کی یہ ایک بہت بڑی کامیابی ہے ۔ مشرقی دریاوں میں پانی کی بہتر صورت حال بھی اس کی ایک وجہ بنی ۔

علاقائی سطح پر دیکھا جائے تو اسی وقت میں انڈیا بھی ستلج پر بکھڑا ڈیم اور بیاس پر پولنگ ڈیم بھی بھر گیا۔

یہ بھی ایک حقیقت ہے کہ تربیلا ، منگلا اور چشمہ جیسے ذخیروں کی کُل حجم سے دُگنا حجم کے برابر پانی ایک ہی جگہ پوٹھوہار میں ذخیرہ کرنے کی قدرتی جگہ ہونے کے باوجودبھی ہم ادھر یونیٹی ڈیم بنانے کا حوصلہ نہیں کر پارہےاور بہت دیر کر چکے ہیں۔ اس جگہ بننے والا ڈیم چائنہ کے تھری گور جز ڈیم سے بھی بڑا ہوگا۔

فی الحال تو بھائی کی بنائی ہوئی چشمہ جھیل کی ویڈیو پر گزارہ کریں۔ یونیٹی ڈیم کی کہانی پھر کبھی۔
