The fact that so many areas of the city are still waterlogged a good 24 hours after the rains have stopped should tell us all we need to know about how the storm water drains have functioned. Yes the rain was excessive and there would have been some flooding but in several roads of the city the water is simply not draining quickly. That was what the storm water drains were supposed to solve. Think the Govt will have to "spend" another ₹4000 crore next year to solve this issue before the next monsoon. No? #ChennaiFloods
