While the workshop is primarily designed for historians, we warmly welcome participants from other disciplines whose work resonates with the theme. Our aim is to rethink the region or locale as a central unit of historical analysis for a more intimate understanding of the past and to explore its richness and complexities beyond the frame of national or state-centric narratives.

The workshop will be led by an inspiring mix of young and senior scholars, including Ilyas Chattha, Abdul Aijaz, Saman Tariq, and Shandana Waheed.

@MaryamShKhan Yes Pashtuns migrated there mostly because of the war on terror(most of which settled there now) and Humeira Iqtidar beautifully described their experiences in Lahore as how they are producing alternative narratives to citizenship and belongings in lahore.
