Some usual suspects who like to pretend things aren't that bad on campus saw the data—showing that roughly 70% of students think professors should be reported for saying "offensive" things—and immediately countered with, "Oh, they're only saying that about when professors sexually harass them!"
No, they aren't. The students mean forbidden opinions even if they are, in fact, correct.
I featured the NDSU data a while back but thanks to Stu for sharing it more broadly.
I'll admit to having struggled to find coherence or consistency in liberal rules of identity politics.
But even given this "complexity,", I will never understand why AOC has license to use a fake black preacher accent when speaking to black audiences:
Democrats and Republicans have the opportunity to do something great: fix America's broken permitting system.
Bipartisan deals are often impossible, but on permitting it's totally possible—because permitting delays kill projects that members of both parties deeply care about. 🧵
The New York legal system continues to make a parody of itself. Cynthia Nixon, who played a lawyer on HBO’s Sex and the City, has been appointed by New York Chief Judge Rowan Wilson to screen and recommend candidates to serve on the state of New York’s highest court.
@FreddyLA7 Freddy, if you’re headed to Louisville, you must stop by my family’s bakery in St. Matthew’s called Plehn’s Bakery. We have plenty of German heritage and it has thrived since 1924. If you swing by, I’m sure my cousins (current owners) will offer you something sweet!
As a former waterbomber pilot who used to lead an aerial firefighting fleet, I can tell you “send help” is an extremely dishonest framing by the Canadian government.
The Canadian government routinely blocks U.S. firefighting companies from attacking fires in Canada, while aggressively sending their government-subsidized aircraft to the U.S. to earn commercial rates from the U.S. taxpayer. It’s big business for them and they run it like a Chinese protectionist racket.
This is a land use chart from Bloomberg in 2018. Estimates are data centers will use 900,000 acres by 2028.
That would be less than 4 of the individual squares here. So less than flowers.
18 USC 1001: Makes it a felony to knowingly and willfully make false statements, conceal facts, or submit fraudulent documents to the U.S. government.
@RandPaul I've transcribed the exchange with Jack Smith for clarity and accountability:
Question: The toll records that you requested from the Senators, did they include the content of the phone calls?
Smith: NO
Question: The records that you requested, the toll records from the members of Congress, include the content of text messages?
Smith: NO
BREAKING: A same-sex couple is suing their surrogate for $600K after she refused to abort their baby at 22 weeks in Canada.
Scans indicated the child had a cleft lip and a possible heart defect.
The little boy was born healthy.
That child is alive today not because of the men who purchased his life, but because the woman who carried him in her womb protected him.
Children are not commodities. Ban surrogacy now.
The reason the US spends more on healthcare than other countries is because we are richer and healthcare is a normal good. The reason we don't get as good health outcomes is largely because of murders, car accidents, and drug ODs (explains half of the gap or so)
Depending on the definition, maybe 3-5% of the US population is smart but seriously mentally unstable. That group heavily selects into politics, though. So maybe you're getting more like 10-15% among certain political types. That's enough to have a real influence on movements.
I have an idea for you. Get a bunch of Dem donors to buy or lease or take over a small hospital. Plenty are close to going out of business.
Have it charge ONLY MEDICARE RATES. For everything. Be completely transparent with every penny you spend so everyone can see what it truly costs to run a small hospital.
See if you can make it work. See what services you can offer. Do not ask for any government subsidies. It has to operate at least to break even.
There are some hospitals that already do this. It wouldn’t be unique. If it works out, you can buy another one. Then another one. Till you have a network.
I’ll help where I can. And for those asking the inevitable, I have tried. As I posted earlier, they all ghosted me after learning how transparent I wanted to be.
An obscure academic wrote a book in 2004 about how dual income households are a scam & the vast majority of women simply aren't economically productive enough to justify outsourcing childcare, even in dystopian government warehouses
