Your fight — yours and Amy Mek’s — is not with Sami Hamdi ; it is with the truth itself, and you cannot defeat the truth. Never!!

I am Sami’s father, and I assure you and anyone reading your tweet that Sami has never belonged— not for a day or even an hour in his life— to the Muslim Brotherhood or to any religious group. He is not a supporter of Hamas. He believes in peace, freedom, and dignity for Jews, Muslims, Christians, and all the peoples of the world.

Sami has thousands of tweets and posts, and you won’t find a single word that incriminates him. As for the stitched videos, ask President Trump—he will tell you that they should never be relied upon to know the truth.

Your incitement against Sami did not succeed. He was not deported; he left voluntarily in agreement with the U.S. government. He was not charged in court with anything related to supporting terrorism or threatening American interests. On the contrary, Sami loves America, admires the idea of ‘America First,’ and appreciates President Trump’s efforts to solve the biggest and most complex problem in the Middle East, and follows with interest his engagement with leaders of the Islamic world, aimed at fostering stronger relations between the United States and Muslim-majority countries.

In comparison, you are doing the opposite of President Trump’s efforts — you attack Islam as a religion, you attack its Prophet, and you incite against Muslims. This is not President Trump’s policy. This is not the Republican Party’s policy. This is not the policy of the U.S. Vice President or the US Secretary of State. And the American people are far removed from the hateful and extremist rhetoric you promote; they respect Islam, Muslims, and people of all races and beliefs.

Moreover, whether intentionally or not, you are attacking the freedom of expression that America and the U.S. administration pride themselves on, tarnishing America’s reputation in the world, and making people ask: why is America imitating North Korea?

Final point here:

Sami, in addition to his love for America, reveres Jesus Christ and acknowledges that he is the Messiah, and he reveres his mother, the Virgin Mary, and considers her the Lady of the Women of the Worlds, as the Noble Qur’an calls her. Can you, or Amy Mek, say the same things he says about Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary?
