TLDR: Muscle fibres impose a real constraint on movement, but the body has many ways to manage that constraint.

@RICH_AgilityLab Interesting thread. I haven't done one BUT, I think in S&C you'd choose as much for the staff/lecturers than you would module content or the organisation. Not true of all degrees. Think this bears out in the comments too.
