Day 2.1/
We have made Auto-review free for all users signed in through a ChatGPT account. You can enable it in settings > permissions > auto-review. Auto-review improves upon the default sandbox setting that requires you to approve everything, which is prone to decision fatigue unless you spend a lot of time configuring specific rules.
It allows you to run long tasks while having a second agent review all actions taken by the primary agent. Its only goal is to prevent high-risk actions from being taken and to protect against unwanted actions that are not aligned with the original user intent. This Auto-review feature is now free and does not draw usage from your plan.
The contrast between hanging up the last phone call of the day of high-stakes decisions and then a minute later walking in the door to the pure love of small children who want to laugh and play and show you every discovery they made that day is the strangest and best thing I have ever experienced in life.
We heard you loud and clear. ChatGPT Voice can now:
- Use plugins like your email, calendar, and Slack.
- Be powered by GPT-6 Astra, Sol, and Luna.
- Be used in ChatGPT Work on web and mobile, so you can create docs, decks, sites, and spreadsheets or tackle complex tasks in the browser, just by talking.
Rolling out globally today in the latest version of the app.
What does it take to be a great FDE at OpenAI - we get this question alot, so I sat down with @gregorojstersek to talk about how we’ve built the team, what the work looks at, and the values we want the team to have - always make the thing exist (and work) first, then look for scale second.
We talk through a few of the recent focuses in how we operate - we've got a bigger focus on domain experts than we used to, and ultimately success for us revolves around working to replace ourselves in every customer problem we take on.
Check out the interview below, and if you're interested in the role then I've included the careers page too - look forward to seeing what you build!

we used our models to find and fix critical vulnerabilities in our own systems, as part of a 250+ person effort within openai. playbooks/learnings/architecture which we hope can be helpful for others to make the most of the defenders' window:
I spent much of the weekend talking with the team who did this work. Seb--and everyone else--acted with integrity and generosity throughout.
Initially we believed the other team had also solved the problem. We wanted to collaborate and do a joint release.
When we learned that they had Euler but not Navier-Stokes, we offered to let them go first, to suggest that they should be the ones to get the prize, and optionally for Tristan to be the lead author on a rewrite of the OpenAI proof. We felt it was challenging to offer the same to Levent (an Anthropic employee), who was not willing to talk or coordinate with us anyway. We were open to other solutions.
We would have greatly preferred coordination. We did not rush to publish even though the other team wasn't communicating with us. The team threatened us with unfounded accusations of plagarism.
Now that we can see their work, the approaches appear to be different. It is also worth noting that our latest model can solve many, many other math problems.
It is true that we tried this because there were rumors on the internet last week that Anthropic's models had solved a millennium problem and we were curious if ours could do it too.
Announcing a solution to the Navier-Stokes problem, one of the seven Millenium Prize problem.
Represents a major milestone for both AI and mathematics, as well as pointing to an upcoming renaissance in scientific discovery.
Hoping that the knowledge created by this model can help the community better understand non-linear PDEs, which are used to model much of the physical world.
Announcing Discovery Loop!
I am very excited to announce that, along with my longtime friends and collaborators @Sanjay_Ghemawat, @OriolVinyalsML and @quocleix, we are founding Discovery Loop (@DiscoLoopAI), a Public Benefit Corporation whose mission is to automate machine learning, science, and engineering to accelerate discoveries and progress. The four of us have worked together for 14 to 30 years, and have helped build some of the world’s most used products, infrastructure and AI models, and we’re excited to turn our attention to this ambitious endeavor.

@lucianaberger@kevinhollinrake@UKLabour@AnthropicAI Guaranteed access to sovereign AI needs to be of national importance. For example, most devs use AI for coding extensively, creating better outputs faster.
If the Uk lost access to frontier capabilities it could devastate our software industry, making us less competitive.
@lucianaberger@kevinhollinrake@UKLabour@AnthropicAI I work in the at a foreign AI lab (non-US). But we really need a sovereign UK frontier model.
I don’t see us making a true sovereign model (includes pre training) until we:
- make energy much cheaper
- clarity on ai copyright law
- invest in compute
- gov really prioritise AI
I'm building a new team in Toronto! We're going to work on agentic capabilities for cybersecurity.
This is a unique opportunity to bridge cutting-edge AI research with real-world impact, directly enhancing digital security for citizens in Canada and globally.
