@KSL5TV@AndrewAdamsKSL Memorial Day is a day to focus on remembering those who died while serving - not โrelatives who passed away,โ or โthose who served in the armed forces.โ This is such an unfortunate conflation of things that only occurs here in Utah. Tremendously frustrating.
@googlepubpolicy And google, Iโm concerned that you think my 13 year old is old enough to make their own device decisions. So no, you donโt have a better way.
Anyone else not have any idea - at all - what Anora is about, let alone that it deserved to win an Oscar?
Cinema sucks right now, and has been bad for so long. Just sad.
I can't help but wonder if the Europeans have the introspection to understand why they became so militarily weak. The US was dragged into two European wars, and after the last one, decided to rebuild Europe and to keep military bases there. NATO was formed to protect Europe from the USSR and to fend off the spread of communism. But US military presence was also a deterrence against intra-European conflict. The US did not want to get dragged into yet another European war.
Relieved of much of the need for strong militaries, European countries adopted socialism and a welfare state. They ultimately formed a joint economic and political unit, the EU, which has created a bureaucracy to rival that of the USSR or the US, but with little military might. Europe indulged in the luxury beliefs of open borders and climate catastrophizing, deindustrializing itself and knee-capping their own standard of living.
I suspect it was EU leaders that encouraged Zelensky to reject the minerals deal and to publicly and deliberately bicker with Trump and Vance. The obviously coordinated propaganda of identically worded posts of support for Ukraine from nearly every European country was meant to shame Americans into supporting never-ending financial aid to Ukraine. It backfired. Americans don't see a rival force in the EU. We see a sense of entitlement and the weakness of countries who have to resort to X posts and photo ops to project power.
Europeans can't seem to fathom that most Americans are sick and tired of carrying so many dependent countries. Maybe they're getting the hint.
So now the EU must urgently re-arm. Maybe it's just bravado, but maybe they're serious. That means they need to re-industrialize. It means they need more energy. It means they will have to scale back their welfare state. It means--God forbid--giving up 12-week "holidays." It means becoming more productive.
It also means civil unrest. Europeans do love their protests. But maybe they'll get that under control.
This might just save European countries, but it will also change them, and change their people. It might reignite long-standing rivalries and jealousies. It might ultimately lead to another European war. If that happens, the US needs to resist any temptation to get involved. Let them figure it out on their own.

There have been many governments there, but never a Palestine.
Yes. Because before capitalism people just handed you the essentials you needed to live.
This is a clown take. You leech off the mercies of capitalism and are too daft to even thank the system that makes our country rich enough for big government to enable you.
Ingrate.
@brad_polumbo Not in a compulsory manner though. The silence is violence nonsense, from early days in the BLM movement leaned too much into that like this.
๐จStrong Language alert๐จ
To say this man is pissed off, livid, or outraged-is an understatement.
But he isn't wrong.
"Any man I hear that can sit down with me & tell me where the F my money is going and he can show me my money is not going in the right places, is NOT my F'ing enemy.... He (Elon) is not my enemy.
"Stop talking about race! It's not a race thing!โ
โIt's them M'frs against us! People, they will lock you up if you don't file your taxes (because they want THEIR money)..... why ain't y'all.. livid?!
He is absolutely correct.
We cannot let them cover this up, destroy evidence, let them walk, let their corrupt judges impose unlawful iniunctions & rulings. We can't let them divide us with race & lies. We will never get another chance like this again to set our country back on course. Never. It's now or never. It's put up or shut up. We should all be livid.
