INSTEAD OF WATCHING AN HOUR OF NETFLIX TONIGHT.
This 1 hour Stanford lecture by Joel Peterson will teach you more about negotiation and getting what you want than most people learn in years.
Bookmark it and give it an hour, no matter what.
Today, it is with humility and a great sense of honour that I thank each and every one of the 166 WTO members for the consensus they achieved in supporting my reappointment! Thank you for the wonderful words of recognition and support. I don’t take this lightly. I also want to thank my colleagues in the Secretariat Staff for their dedication and hard work.
This is an enormous responsibility and I will redouble my efforts to work with each and every member to try and deliver the results this organization needs, including the necessary reforms to make it fit for 21st century challenges. We’ve done it before, we can do it again! I am also grateful to my family, my country, to the Africa Region, and to all my friends and colleagues from all over the world who have reached out with hundreds of congratulatory messages. Thank you for the recognition!

Still in the spirit of celebrating the Africa Youth Day, we are revisiting our Friday X Spaces conversation with quotes from our speakers - @aderommie highlighted education's crucial role in peacebuilding.
An attosecond is a very short unit of time that is equal to one quintillionth of a second, or 10⁻¹⁸ seconds.
To put it in perspective, an attosecond is to a second what a second is to about 31.71 billion years.
Scientists use attosecond pulses of light to study the ultrafast motion of electrons in atoms and molecules, which can reveal the underlying mechanisms of many physical and chemical processes.
In today’s marketplace, understanding the interconnected nature of consumer purchases is essential. When customers buy one item, they often seek complementary products. For example, someone purchasing underwear may also consider socks; a car buyer will think about tires; and a shirt shopper might look for a tie.
To maximize sales, identify these additional needs alongside your primary product. By recognizing these connections, you can create targeted marketing strategies and personalized recommendations that enhance the shopping experience. Remember, every sale is an opportunity to build a relationship and offer value beyond the initial transaction.
How To Sell Anything To Anyone!
1. Build trust, not sales pitches.
2. Listen and adapt to needs.
3. Embrace rejection to grow.
4. Offer value before asking.
5. Stay agile and evolve.
My message to my African brothers and sisters: Stay naive. Keep that hope alive, even when the news feels heavy, even when we face betrayal, and even when it feels like the odds are stacked against us.
Our strength lies in our ability to believe, to keep dreaming big despite the challenges. Stay anchored in hope, and don’t let anyone or anything take away that fire. Hold onto faith, keep your heart open, and continue to see the world with possibility.
Great point: there needs to be a youth-led transitional justice process focusing on a multi-pronged approach that takes into account youth-led reconciliation processes, and that allows young people engage through dialogue and truth-telling
